SWIM FORECAST FOR NLS 2025
Saturday, August 9th looks like a beautiful day for a swim!
The sky should be clear and sunny. Reflective goggles will be very helpful for sighting into the sun on the initial leg of the swim.
Air temperatures will be in the mid 60s at the start, rising to the 70s.
Water temperatures will be reported and available at swimmer check-in. Temperatures have been running in the upper 50s to low 60s in the past few days.
Winds will be out of the south, with forecasted wind speeds of 5 to 7 mph.
You’ll be headed into the incoming tide on the way out to “the gut”. The swell is forecasted at 3 feet. It is always a good idea to try to sight at the crest of the wave. The wind, tide and swell conditions should make for some quite advantageous conditions on the final leg of the swim!
